What is ...
A visit?
A visit is an event where a person displays your website in a browser, stays on it for a while and then leaves. If the person returns to your website (without closing the browser), it is generally counted as a single visit, and not several visits.
Pageview?
A pageview is a single page on your website being loaded. That means that a single visit can result in several pageviews.
Unique visitor?
Unique visitors are separate, individual persons visiting your website. While one person may conduct multiple visits over the course of time, they will only be counted as one unique visitor.
Therefore, the number of unique visitors to your website is a rough measure of how many people have actually seen your website over a given time span.
